BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track and field team closed out competition at the Sun Belt Conference Championships today in Birmingham, Ala.
Yesterday, CCU claimed 19 top-10 finishes, including four silver placements from seniors Molly Jones and Meg Goebel, redshirt junior Ellie Wolski and freshman Ebba Hedberg.
Today, Jones claimed Coastal's first top finish of the event with a Sun Belt Conference Championship record in the women's 3000m with a time of 9:25.94, beating out James Madison's Miranda Stanhope by a full five seconds. Hedberg took home Coastal's second top finish in the women's high jump with a final distance of 1.73m.
The Chants also added to their list of second place finishes with the 4x400m relay team taking second in their finals competition.
Next up for the Chants following the conference championships is the NCAA Indoor Championships on Mar. 8-9 in Boston, Mass.
