Men's Tennis Welcomes Georgia State and Georgia Southern in Weekend Doubleheader

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team (5-9, 0-2 SBC) is set for a weekend doubleheader in Sun Belt Conference play, as they take on the Georgia State Panthers (6-11, 1-2 SBC) and the Georgia Southern Eagles (9-7, 3-0 SBC) at the Stevens Tennis Complex. 

Last time out, the Chants fell to the Campbell Fighting Camels 4-0 on Tuesday, Mar. 26 at the Nisbet Tennis Center in Buies Creek, N.C. Campbell took the opening doubles point after taking two of the three individual matchups. Senior Ryuya Ata and freshman Eric Tripathi notched the lone doubles win for the Chants, defeating CU's No. 3 seed Noe Macquart and Pol Otin 6-4.  

In singles, the Fighting Camels took all six matches, taking the first and fourth seeded games in straight sets.   

Georgia State is coming off a 4-3 loss at home to Jacksonville State, moving their overall record to 6-11. The Panthers are currently 1-2 in Sun Belt play, defeating last-placed James Madison 4-0 and losing to Georgia Southern 5-2 and Old Dominion 4-1 in their opening three matches. 

Georgia Southern enters the weekend at 9-7 after taking down No. 49 Old Dominion 4-3 at the Wallis Tennis Center in Statesboro, Ga. The Eagles have five in row, and seven of their last eight, dating back to a 4-0 win at home over Gardner-Webb on Feb. 18. Georgia Southern also sits atop the Sun Belt standings with a perfect 3-0 record in conference play. 

CCU vs. Georgia State will start at 2 P.M. ET on Friday, Mar. 29, and CCU vs. Georgia Southern will start at 12 P.M. ET on Saturday, Mar. 30 at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
