MONROE, LA. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have wrapped competition on the second day of the Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Groseclose Track in Monroe, La.
Yesterday, the Chants finished opening day with 11 finishes inside the top-10 of their respective events on the first of three days of competition. The team was led by a pair of second-place finishers in Ebba Hedberg and Brooke Fung Chung in the women's shot put and high jump, respectively.
Today, on day two, CCU added another 20 top-10 finishers to their credit, highlighted by senior Garrett Ricardo and Amanda Kinloch taking the top spots in the preliminary events of the men's 800m and the women's 100m hurdles with final times of 1:52.29 and 13:25, respectively.
Other top finishers included Genson Hooper Price placing second and third in the 400m and 200m events, Braydon Bennett taking second in the men's 100m hurdles, Molly Jones claiming third in the women's 10000m and a pair of fourth-place finishers in Nehemiah Cionelo and Callie Wilson in the men's 3000m steeple and the women's pole vault events.
The Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships will continue tomorrow morning for the final day of action, starting with the men's triple jump event at 12 PM CT and closing with the men's and women's 4x400m finals at 7:35 PM CT.
