Coastal Carolina Student-Athletes Extend 3.0 GPA Streak to 20 Consecutive Semesters

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina student-athletes earned a 3.375 overall GPA in the spring 2024 semester, the department's 20th consecutive semester greater than 3.0. The 3.375 mark set a record for the highest department GPA on record, excluding COVID. 

138 undergraduate student-athletes were named to the Dean's List with 87 student-athletes earning 4.0 GPAs. 342 student-athletes finished the semester with at least a 3.0 GPA to earn spots on Chauncey's Honor Roll. 

"I am very proud of the academic performance displayed by our athletes this spring," said Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation Matt Hogue. "Alise Svihla and her staff do a remarkable job advising and mentoring our athletes. They deserve a tremendous amount of credit."

Beach volleyball led all women's teams with a 3.826, while men's tennis paced the men's teams with a 3.721. Every team in the department finished the year with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, while 17 of the 18 teams notched a 3.0 GPA during the spring.
