MONROE, LA. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have completed the opening day of the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Monroe, La.
As a team, the Chants finished with 11 finishes inside the top-10 of their respective events on the first of three days of competition. Coastal was led by a pair of second-place finishers in Ebba Hedberg and Brooke Fung Chung in the women's shot put and high jump, respectively.
Other top finishers for CCU included Callie Wilson in fourth in the women's pole vault, Meg Goebel in fifth in the women's 200m and Trey Kraimer in sixth in the men's 1500m.
Due to inclement weather, the final six events scheduled for today have been rescheduled for tomorrow.
The Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships will return for day two tomorrow morning, starting with the women's 10000m event at 8:00 AM CT and closing with the men's 3000m steeplechase finals at 8:20 PM CT.
