CONWAY, S.C. – Former Coastal Carolina pitcher
Bryce Shaffer inked a deal with the Tampa Bay Rays.
In his two years at CCU, Shaffer appeared in 50 games with five starts. The left-handed pitcher finished his career with a 5.74 ERA and an 8-7 record while recording two saves. Shaffer pitched 111.1 innings with 112 strikeouts and allowed 81 runs.
The Cape Coral, Fla., native finished the 2024 season with a 3-6 record and a 5.28 ERA in 25 appearances with two starts. In the 59.2 innings pitched, he allowed 40 runs on 68 hits while striking out 58 batters.
