BOONE, N.C. ---- Coastal Carolina women's basketball dropped a 63-60 game to Appalachian State on Saturday afternoon inside Holmes Convocation Center to close out a four-game Sun Belt Conference road trip that spanned the past two weeks. The Chanticleers outscored the Mountaineers in both second-half periods, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 10-point halftime deficit in Boone.

Coastal Carolina scored 14 of the final 19 points during the last 6:47 of the contest before App State improved to 8-7 (4-1 SBC). With the result, Coastal moved to 12-3 (3-2) as it ended its four-game road swing with a 2-2 mark with wins over South Alabama and ODU.

Alancia Ramsey led all scorers with 16 points while
Jayden Marable added 11 of her own with six rebounds. Bench points proved to be a key difference in the game as App State won the category 29-12.

The Chanticleers now return home for a pair of conference games starting Thursday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. ET against Georgia State. Coastal stays at home on Saturday, Jan. 18 when it welcomes JMU to town at 1 p.m. ET.
