MOBILE, Ala. ---- Coastal Carolina women's basketball earned a 73-58 victory on the road at South Alabama on Saturday afternoon inside the Mitchell Center. The Chants held USA to just eight points in the second quarter to propel themselves to a 2-1 start in Sun Belt Conference play this season.
Â
Coastal (11-2, 2-1) didn't allow more than 11 points in three of the four periods thanks in large part to forcing 21 turnovers on the defensive side of the court. The Chants led for all but 1:54 to improve to 4-2 this season away from home.
Â
Alancia Ramsey led the way for CCU with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Jayden Marable added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Mallory Bruce finished with 10 points, as well.
Â
One of the key differences in the game proved to be points off turnovers as the Chants finished with a 23-10 advantage in the category. Â Coastal also controlled the paint well, winning that scoring zone 36-24.
