CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina women's soccer midfielder Jasmine Ouatu has been called up to the Romanian Under-19 (U19) national team camp, set for October 20-28 in Romania. During the camp, Ouatu will train alongside 21 fellow standout athletes and compete in two friendly matches against Sweden.

Upon receiving the news, Ouatu described feeling a surge of pride and excitement.

"I was thrilled and proud to be called up again," she said. "It's always an honor to represent the national team and build on previous experiences. Each opportunity like this pushes me to keep improving and stay consistent."

The first person she shared the news with was her mother.

"She was proud as always and told me to stay focused and enjoy it," Ouatu said. "She's seen all the work that goes into moments like this, so it meant a lot to share it with her."

Representing Romania carries deep personal significance for Ouatu.

"It always means a lot to me, especially because my parents are from there," she said. "It connects me to my family and my roots. Every time I put on that jersey, I want to show how much it means to me and represent my country the right way."

Looking ahead, the freshman hopes to absorb as much as possible from the experience.

"The level is always high with players coming in from all over the world, so it pushes me to be better," she said. "Each camp helps me grow and prepares me for the next step in my career."
