HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team played to its seventh consecutive draw, earning a 1-1 result against the Marshall Thundering Herd on Friday night in Huntington, W.Va.
- With the tie, Coastal moves to 3-4-8 overall and 0-1-8 in Sun Belt Conference play.
- The Chanticleers appeared to take the lead in the 17th minute when Stella Lawson found the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed due to a foul in the buildup.
- The score remained 0-0 at the half, with each team recording two shots.
- Marshall broke through in the 50th minute as Larissa Ozorio netted her second goal of the season to give the Thundering Herd a 1-0 advantage.
- The Chants responded in the 75th minute when Tamlyn Parkes buried a shot into the bottom left corner off an assist from Olivia Goretski to even the match at 1-1.
- Coastal continued to push forward in the final 15 minutes but was unable to find the game-winner.
- The result marks Coastal's seventh straight tie, matching the NCAA Division I record for the most consecutive draws.
- With the outcome, the Chanticleers were officially eliminated from postseason contention, as even a win in their final match would not move them into the top eight of the Sun Belt standings.
The Chanticleers will close out the regular season on the road at Arkansas State on Oct. 29, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET.
