CONWAY — Coastal Carolina women's basketball (6-5) took down UNCG 67-61 on Wednesday night at the HTC Center. It was Coastal's narrowest victory of the season as the Chants won their fifth home game of the campaign.
GAME RECAP
After falling behind 25-24 at halftime, Coastal once again put together a strong third quarter, outscoring the Spartans 24-19.
Paige Bradley and
Kristin Williams accounted for 12 of those points as the Chants made three of their seven three-point attempts in the period.
UNCG took a 54-52 lead in the fourth, but
Kinsea Grimes responded with a three-pointer with six minutes to play as Coastal would hold on for the 67-61 victory.
COASTAL LEADERS
For the fifth time this season, Grimes collected double-digit points with 19 and finished with her second double-double with 10 rebounds. Both Williams and Bradley each finished with 10 points to help the scoring effort. Overall, Coastal shot 39-percent from the field, 36-percent from three, and 83-percent from the free-throw line. The Chants forced 16 turnovers while outrebounding the Spartans 42-33.
