CONWAY — Coastal Carolina women's basketball (7-7) defeated Columbia College (6-7) 103-41 on Monday night at the HTC Center. The win was the 500th in the career of Chanticleer head coach
Kevin Pederson as Coastal scored over 100 points for the fourth time this season.
GAME RECAP
The Chants outscored the Koalas 34-7 in the opening quarter after shooting 50-percent from both the field and three-point mark. Columbia picked up their scoring in the second, scoring 18 points to Coastal's 22 as the Chants entered halftime with a 56-25 lead. Coastal's defense held Columbia to just 16 second half points as the Chants closed out their 103-41 victory.
COASTAL LEADERS
Kristin Williams matched her career-high with 23 points off seven made three's for the second consecutive game. Four other scorers joined her in double figures, including
Tracey Hueston (18),
Paige Bradley (15),
J'yana Salton (14), and
Tateyoina Harris (10). Harris also collected 11 rebounds to post a double-double. As a team, Coastal shot 47-percent from the field and 36-percent from long-range while making 15 of 23 free throw attempts.
