Chanticleers Add Santiago Schele To Signing Class

CONWAY ---- Coastal Carolina men's golf announced the addition of Santiago Schele to the 2025 signing class. A native of Santiago, Chile, Schele is currently ranked as the 644th-best amateur golfer in the world with eight wins and 35 top-10 finishes in 51 counting events.

Schele's events wins list includes: GOLFACTION Final, Abierto Los Leones, Abierto Prince of Wales Country Club, Joaquin Niemann Invitational, GOLFACTION PRINCE OF WALES C.C., Campeonato FChG II, GOLFACTION Chicureo and Abierto Internacional de Menores.

Five of his eight event championships came in 2024 alone.

"Santiago is an incredible player and a significant addition to our program," head coach Jacob Wilner said. "The recruiting process with him has been fun. Watching him play in Chile and having him on campus it's very evident that he makes us better. We look forward to having him wear Teal come August".

Schele joins an already impressive class previously announced in November with Lucas Arntsen, Harrison James and Cameron Roberts.

"We are so pumped about this signing class," Wilner said in reference to the trio of signees. "These three young men embody our vision, goals and future of our program. Cam, Harry and Lucas all have the talent, experience and attitude to hit the ground running next fall."

The Chanticleers open their spring campaign Feb. 8 at the Grande Dunes Golf Club with their annual Alumni Match at 9 a.m. Regular season action begins with the Duel at the Dunes on Feb. 19 from the same location.
