ROME, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis season came to a close Thursday afternoon after a 4-2 loss to Troy in the opening round of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament at the Rome Tennis Center.

• The duo of Aida Mitrache and Brunelle Kouam got the Chants off to a strong start with a 6-3 win on court three in doubles. However, Troy responded with wins on courts one and two to claim the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.
• Senior Anna Babayan tied the match at 1-1 with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory at the No. 1 singles position.
• Maria Guirguis put Troy back on top, defeating Mitrache 6-3, 6-4 on court two to make it 2-1.
• Freshman Brunelle Kouam battled back from a set down to earn a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win on court three, evening the score at 2-2.
• Troy clinched the match with wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 singles spots to secure the 4-2 victory.
