CONWAY — Coastal Carolina women's basketball completed the season-sweep over Appalachian State with a 65-64 win on Wednesday at the HTC Center. The Chanticleers (13-15, 6-9) grabbed their sixth conference win of the season.
GAME RECAP
Coastal got off to a hot start, scoring the first six points of the game and outscored the Mountaineers 18-6 in the first quarter. The Chants extended their lead to 13 in the second quarter before the Mountaineers tightened the lead to seven as Coastal took a 31-24 advantage to halftime. Coastal saw their largest lead of the game in the third quarter, going up 55-40 with just over a minute left in the period. Appalachian State went on a run in the fourth, outscoring Coastal 21-8 but the Chants held on for a 65-64 win.
COASTAL LEADERS
Freshman
Olivia Klanac totaled a career-high 20 points on 6-12 shooting and 3-6 from distance while making five free throws
. Tracey Hueston collected her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, Coastal shot 36-percent from the field and 25-percent from long-range while making 17 of 21 free throw attempts.

Coastal closes out their home schedule with Old Dominion on Saturday, Feb. 21. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the men's game on ESPN+.
