HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – No. 15 Coastal Carolina used timely execution in extra innings to edge Marshall 5-4 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon, completing the series sweep and remaining unbeaten in Sun Belt Conference play.

Tied at 4-4 in the 10th inning, Rex Watson jumpstarted the Chanticleers' offense with a lead-off double. Blagen Pado followed with a sacrifice bunt to move Watson to third, setting the stage for Jordan Taylor, who lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the go-ahead run.

Ryan Lynch closed the door in the bottom half of the inning, to improve to (2-0) on the year. 

Taylor finished the day 1-for-3 with three RBIs, driving in two runs via sacrifice flies. Blake Barthol added a pair of hits in the win, while Domenico Tozzi went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in the sixth inning.

With the win, Coastal Carolina improves to 20-7 overall and 9-0 in Sun Belt Conference play. The sweep marks the first time the Chanticleers have opened conference play with three consecutive series sweeps since 2010 and extends their Sun Belt winning streak to 31 games dating back to last season.

Coastal will return to the Palmetto State for a midweek matchup at The Citadel on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
