JONESBORO, Ark. – No. 10/11 Coastal Carolina jumped out to an early lead but was unable to hold off Arkansas State, falling 6-3 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.

The Chanticleers took a 3-1 advantage early in the contest, however, the Red Wolves responded with five unanswered runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take control and avoid the series sweep.

Blagen Pado led Coastal at the plate, going 2-for-3 in the loss, while Dean Mihos drove in all three Chanticleer runs, finishing 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

With the loss, Coastal Carolina moves to 26-9 overall and 13-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Chanticleers will return to action on Tuesday night, traveling to Winston-Salem, N.C. for a non-conference matchup at Wake Forest. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on ACCNX.
