Biography
Tamara Bryant enters her first year as a volunteer assistant coach at Coastal. She will be primarily working with the throwers.
Bryant is a familiar face to the program, completing her collegiate career with the Lady Chanticleers last spring. She was the 2007 Big South Conference Champion in the discus with a 159[apos]5' (48.59m) throw, which also set a new facility record at Liberty[apos]s Matthes Hopkins Track Complex. Bryant garnered three All-Big South honors during her indoor career and five All-Conference honors during the outdoor seasons. By the end of her career, Bryant found a spot in Coastal[apos]s indoor and outdoor record books. She is sixth all-time in the shot put and fourth all-time in the discus in the indoor track and field annals. Among the outdoor records, Bryant is second all-time in the discus, third in the hammer and fourth in the shot put.
Prior to Coastal, Bryant attended Moorpark College in Moorpark, Calif. While at Moorpark, she placed third in the discus and hammer at the California Community College Championships.
Bryant graduated from Coastal in 2007 with a degree in marine science and a minor in biology. She received her associates degree from Moorpark in in 2004.
Bryant resides in Myrtle Beach.
