Prior to Coastal Carolina
- A 2001 graduate of Bishop Smith High School in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada
- Shot a 145 to finish second overall at the Ottawa City and Districts his senior year
- Finished sixth in the Quebec Future Links Championship
- Placed fourth in the CJGA Canadians and second in the CJGA Ontario Championship in 2000
- Turned in a fifth-place finish in the 2000 Canadian-American Tournament in Orlando
- Named the MVP of his high school team as a junior, finishing second in the regional
- Posted a third-place finish in the 1999 Ottawa City and Districts
- Won an Ottawa tournament by sinking a 30-foot putt on the third hole of a five-way playoff as a 16-year old
