Matthew Griffin joined the Coastal Carolina Women’s Basketball program as the Video Coordinator on September 10, 2018.
Griffin oversees all the video aspects of the women’s basketball program, including but not limited to, filming games and practices; breaking down film, preparing scouts of opponents, assisting with the management of the programs social media accounts, assisting with graphics and mail-outs for recruiting, showcasing various team events, creating hype videos for the team, and all other duties required by the staff.
Prior to joining the Chanticleers, Griffin worked in the private sector at PrestoSports, a sport technology company out of Washington D.C. Griffin mainly worked with college athletic departments, helping update and design their websites, as well as helping with their statistical needs.
Griffin is a graduate of NC State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, and is a native of Charlotte, NC. At NC State he spent three years on staff with the Women’s Basketball Program from 2014-2017. As a Team Manager Griffin assisted primarily in practice working with the post players, and also worked with travel logistics, the team video coordinator, and assisted with managing the team equipment. Also, while working with the NC State Women’s Basketball team, Griffin was a part of two, twenty-plus win seasons. In 2016-17 Griffin was a part of the team that went to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Griffin brings a dynamic background to the team, and is excited and energized to commit his ongoing work to the Chanticleers.
