In 14 seasons as a head coach overall, Hogan has posted a 131-111-23 overall record, including a 35-16-7 record in three seasons at Allegheny College (1998-2000) and a 96-95-16 record in 11 seasons at Coastal (2011-present).

Hogan boasts a wealth of coaching experience at all levels, serving as a head coach at the NCAA Division I and III levels, an assistant at the Power 5 level and the NCAA Division II level, and as a member of the USYSA Region III Olympic Development staff.

The winningest coach in Coastal Carolina women's soccer history, Hogan has coached one Big South Attacking Player of the Year, two Big South Rookie/Freshman of the Year, one Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year, and 26 all-conference selections over his time at CCU. He has also mentored five United Soccer Coaches/NSCAA All-Region honorees and 14 conference all-tournament honorees.

In what was a challenging season in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chanticleers went 7-8 overall which included going 6-4 in regular-season Sun Belt Conference East Division play in the 2020 fall season. The Chanticleers also played four matches in the 2021 spring season, which included contests on the road at national powers Duke and South Carolina, with a very young team that had 11 true freshmen and 10 sophomores on the roster.

A total of nine different Chants notched a goal on the season, while a total of 15 student-athletes registered at least one point on the year for the season.

Coastal had three student-athletes earn All-Sun Belt honors, as Mackenzie Gibbs and Mackenzie Cherry were both named to the first team while senior Sunny Sigurvinsdottir was named to the second team.

In 2019, led by United Soccer Coaches All-Region and All-Sun Belt picks Sunny Sigurvinsdottir and Hannah Miller, Hogan's squad went 7-9-2 overall with five of their seven wins coming in Sun Belt Conference play. Seven different players notched at least one goal on the season led by Sigurvinsdottir and Miller tying for the team-high with six goals apiece as the Chants finished in a tie for fourth overall in the regular-season standings.

Looking to make the next step in 2018, the Chanticleers finished the season at 8-8-1 overall and third in the Sun Belt with a 7-3 conference record. The Chants posted a pair of three-match winning streaks on the season and totaled five shutouts on the season including three-straight in conference play over Louisiana (Oct. 5), ULM (Oct. 7), and Georgia Southern (Oct. 12). Transfer Hannah Miller, who led the team in points (12), goals (5), and assists (2), was named the Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt second team.

Hogan led the Chants to a second-place finish for the second-straight year in the 2017 Sun Belt Championship tournament. Coastal finished in a tie for sixth overall in the regular season and made a run to the Sun Belt Tournament championship match with tournament wins over Texas State (2-1) and Georgia Southern (4-1). The Chanticleers won 11 games (11-8-1) and went 4-5-1 in conference play. The 11 wins marked the sixth-straight double-digit win season for the Chanticleers which started in 2012. Hogan picked up the 100th win of his coaching career with the victory over Louisiana on Sept. 29. Daniella Famili was named to the All-Sun Belt second team and went on to be named third-team All-South Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

In the program’s first season in the Sun Belt in 2016, Hogan led the Chanticleers to a second-place finish in the regular season and to a spot in the Sun Belt Tournament championship match. Coastal won 12 games for the second-straight season (12-6-3) and was 6-2-2 in the league. Daniella Famili and Amber Adams were both named to the All-Sun Belt first team while goalkeeper Becca Austin was voted to the second team. Famili went on to be named first-team All-South Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America to become the first Chanticleer to earn first-team all-region honors. Adams was named to the third team to mark Coastal’s third and fourth players to be named all-region in the program’s history (with Kacey Kelley in 2014 and Famili and Adams in 2016, the only three Chants to be named NSCAA All-Region have been under Hogan’s tutelage.)

In 2015, Hogan was named the Big South Coach of the Year for the second-straight season, as he and the Chanticleers matched the program's progression from the previous season, after posting their best campaign in seven years. The Chanticleers finished in second place in the Big South during the regular season with a 7-2-1 record, an identical Big South finish to the 2014 campaign. After defeating UNC Asheville 5-0 in the Big South quarterfinals, Coastal advanced to the Big South semifinals for the second-straight season before eventually falling in the semifinal match to Campbell, 2-0, to finish the season at 12-7-1. The 12 victories provided the fourth-straight double-digit win season and were also the most wins for Coastal since 2008. Freshman Kayla Christian become the fourth Chanticleer to garner the Big South Freshman of the Year award, while Amber Adams (first team), Daniella Famili (first team), Christian (second team), and Mel Flatter (honorable mention) all received All-Big South accolades.

Hogan was named the Big South Coach of the Year in 2014, as he and the Chanticleers took more steps forward in the program’s progression. After tying for second place in the Big South during the regular season with a 7-2-1 record, its best finish since 2010, Coastal notched its first conference tournament win since 2008 with a 2-0 shutout of UNC Asheville, before falling in a tight 2-1 semifinal match against High Point to finish the season at 11-8-2. Hogan became the third different Chanticleer leader to earn the conference’s top coaching honor. Senior forward Kacey Kelley also made history individually under Hogan, becoming the first Chant to earn NSCAA All-Region honors and the second to be named Big South Player of the Year. Four Chants received all-conference recognition in Kelley (first team), Amber Adams (first team), Rylie Johnson (second team), and Sam Patterson (second team).

As a team, CCU was second in the Big South during the regular season in the fewest goals allowed, not surrendering more than one goal in any of their 11 conference games, while ranking third in goals scored. The Chanticleers also continued to excel against the league’s best, posting a 1-0 shutout of Liberty on Senior Day to mark the third-straight season in which Coastal has handed the league’s eventual regular-season champion its only conference defeat.

In 2013, Hogan guided Coastal to a 10-8-2 record, giving the Chanticleers consecutive double-digit victory campaigns for the first time since 2008. The Chanticleers tied for fourth in the Big South, along the way ending Radford’s 19-game regular-season conference unbeaten streak with a 1-0 victory on October 23. The squad also set a new CCU record with 11 shutouts in their 20 games, while allowing just 15 total goals on the season to establish a new program mark for the second year in a row. Seven Chants earned All-Big South honors, including a total of four on the first and second teams, tied for the most in the conference.

Coastal made a dramatic improvement under Hogan during his second season in 2012, notching eight more victories than the previous year. The Chanticleers finished 10-9 overall and went 7-4 in Big South play, including a perfect 5-0 mark at home. The Chants decreased their goals allowed from 40 in 2011 to a then-school-record 20 and posted eight shutouts while surrendering the fewest shots of any Big South team. Hogan coached three Chants to All-Big South honors, including Fia Jonsson, who was tabbed the league’s Freshman of the Year.

Hogan’s first season saw Coastal finish with a 2-15-2 record as the Chanticleers fell short in numerous one-goal games. Coastal piled up a season-high three goals in a rout of VMI and backed up its performance with a thrilling 1-0 defeat of UNC Asheville.
