LYNCHBURG, VA— Junior forward Katie Woodrow provided the game's only scoring as the Liberty University Lady Flames soccer team defeated Big South rival Coastal Carolina 1-0 at the Liberty Soccer Field Saturday afternoon.
Woodrow's goal, her first of the season, came at the 30:01 mark in the game. Woodrow scored off a cross from sophomore forward Lauren Zealand.
For the game, Liberty outshot Coastal Carolina 20-2. Liberty freshman goalkeeper Natalie Mayer (Fort Myers, Fla.) saved one shot in shutting out the Lady Chanticleers. Coastal's goalkeeper Candice Doten saved 11 shots and allowed the one goal.
