SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Crystal Brown scored 20 points and Nikki Reddick added 18 as Coastal Carolina staged a 74-72 comeback victory over Wofford Friday night in the Benjamin Johnson Arena.

With the win, Coastal Carolina moves to 3-0 on the season for only the second time in its 27-year history. The Lady Terriers fall to 1-3.

The Lady Terriers held a seven point lead, 67-60, with less than six minutes remaining. The Lady Chants held Wofford scoreless over the next 3:30 as they tallied a 9-0 run to take the lead. A Nakia Mister jumper tied the score at 69 all for the Lady Terriers at 2:27. After a layup by Coastal's Temecca Barnes, Wofford's LaToya Strong notched a trey to put Wofford up for the last time, 72-71, with 59 seconds left. Barnes made another layup for the go-ahead points, and a Reddick free throw with 13 seconds left completed the scoring.

The Lady Chants had a strong start to the game, building a 9-2 lead after three minutes. Wofford chipped away throughout the first half, though, and tied it at 33 all on a Brie Bradshaw jumper with 4:04 remaining. Ricaye Harris nailed a 3-pointer to go ahead, 36-35 at the 2:16 mark, and Becky Sasso converted a pair of free throws to give the Lady Terriers the 38-37 halftime advantage.

In addition to the 20 points, Brown had eight rebounds and two blocks for Coastal Carolina. Reddick also had five boards and five assists. Barnes finished the evening with 11 points, four assists, five rebounds and four steals.

Bradshaw led Wofford with 15 points and nine rebounds. Jenn Stasie had 14 points, while Sasso contributed 12. Mister had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Wofford returns to action Wednesday when it travels to the University of South Carolina in a 7 p.m. game.
