CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina University Head Women's Basketball Coach Alan LeForce announced on Monday the hiring of Dionne Dodson as assistant coach.

"Dionne brings experience to our coaching staff, having been to the NCAA Tournament twice as well as working for a great program in the northeast," said LeForce. "Her enthusiasm and love for the game as well as her ability to get along great with players and people will help us alot in the recruiting process."

Dodson joins the Lady Chanticleers after serving the past three seasons as an assistant coach at St. Francis (Pa.) University. While at St. Francis, she help guide the Lady Red Flash to two Northeast Conference Championships titles in 2000 and 2002 as well as two appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to her time in Loretto, Dodson worked as an intern with the Slippery Rock University Women's Basketball program during the spring of 1999. A 1997 graduate of Muskingum (Ohio) College with a B.S. in psychology, Dodson was a four-year starter at point guard for the Lady Muskies.
