BLACKSBURG, VA - Coastal Carolina dominated the event and dethroned Liberty, outscoring the six-time defending champions by 50 points, earning the Lady Chanticleers' first-ever Big South Indoor Track title. Anne Marie Moutsinga won the 3,000 and 5,000 meter races, including leading a 1-2-3-4 CCU finish in the 5,000.
Marilyn Testa won the pole vault,
Chasity Johnson won the triple jump with a league and championship record, while
Amber Campbell destroyed the field with a career best, along with league and championship record in winning the weight throw. Coastal also won the distance medley relay. Moutsinga took Women's Outstanding Track Performer honors, while teammate
Amber Campbell was named Outstanding Field Performer. The Lady Chants'
Alan Connie was named Coach of the Year and
Marilyn Testa was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
