Football Ranked Nationally In Three National Polls

Chanticleers also return to the Top 25 in two other rankings after road win at then No. 17 South Carolina State
CONWAY, S.C. – Coming off a dramatic, last-second 24-23 victory at then No. 17 South Carolina State, the Coastal Carolina University football program returned to the top 25 of the five polls this week.
Coastal's highest poll ranking comes in two separate polls. CCU is back in the The Sports Network Top 25 at No. 19 with 741 points after being 27th last week (if extended out) with 234 points. The Chanticleers made their biggest move in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, moving up from receiving votes (31st extended) to 19th with 310 points.
CCU is 23rd in the Any Given Saturday poll (received votes last week to be in 32nd on extended). Coastal is also ranked 25th by Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette and 14th by College Sports Report. Last week's opponent South Carolina State fell from 20th to 24th in The Sports Network poll this week and dropped out of the top 25 on I-AA.org.
The Chanticleers will take the week off and are back in action Sat., Oct. 15, hosting Gardner-Webb for the Big South Conference opener for both teams. The game, scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m., will be televised as part of the Big South Television package.
