The 2005 First-Year Player Draft saw six Coastal players go in the first 33 rounds, tying the 1983 club for most draft picks in one season ... Mike Costanzo was the highest selection from Coastal Carolina since Kirt Manwaring was picked in the second round by the San Francisco Giants in 1986 ... All six players were selected by National League clubs ... The six selections were the most in the Big South. Winthrop had four players drafted, including two (Daniel Carte and Kevin Slowey) in the second round ... Five of the six selections were members of the All-Big South First and Second Teams ... Coastal signee Harrison Bishop (Kirkland, Wash./Edmonds C.C.) was drafted in the 40th round by Baltimore.
