The Coastal Carolina University baseball team (2-5) gave up 10 runs in the first two innings and had only two hits as the Chanticleers fell to fourth-ranked University of North Carolina (4-0) 15-0 Feb. 21 in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Tar Heels sent 10 men to the plate in the first, scoring six runs. Mike Cavasinni singled and stole second, then scored on a single from Reid Fronk. He gave up seven hits and nine earned runs in 1.1 innings. Gagg had a solid outing, going 3.2 innings with three strikeouts. The win went to the Tar Heels’ Luke Putkonen, who gave up only the Duggan hit and struck out two. Coastal will head to Coastal Federal Field for the Baseball at the Beach Tournament this weekend.
