Women's Golf Finishes Ninth At Edwin Watts/Pinehurst Challenge More Information:
PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Coastal Carolina women's golf team shot their best round of the tournament and moved up one more place to place ninth at the Edwin Watts/Pinehurst Challenge, Mar. 13. The 54-hole event was hosted by College of Charleston at Pinehurst #8 (Par 72 - 5,954 Yards) in Pinehurst, N.C., Mar. 12-14.
The Lady Chanticleers shot their best round of the tournament, a total of 311, in the final round to finish ninth at 950. The 311 was the fourth-best score of the final round. Maryland won wire-to-wire, finishing at 917, five shots better than runners-up Mississippi State and UNC Wilmington at 922.
Coastal was led by freshman Ann Maness (Galivants Ferry, S.C./Aynor), who tied for 23rd at 236. Senior Lindsey Letzig (Richmond, Mo./Richmond) was next for the Lady Chants at 237, good for a tie for 28th.
The Lady Chanticleers will next be in action at the nationally-renowned Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, Fri.-Sun., Mar. 24-26. The tournament will be played at the University of Georgia Golf Club in Athens, Ga.
