Lindsey Letzig (Richmond, Mo.) has earned Women’s Golfer of the Week, it was announced today by the League office. This is the first time this year she has won the award. Letzig paced the Lady Chants at the John Kirk/Lady Panther Invitational, finishing in a tie for eighth with a 9-over 153 (74-79), leading the team to a tie for sixth in the event. It was her first top-10 finish of the 2005-06 season and the fourth of her career. Additionally, Letzig’s opening round of 74 was her season-best. The 2006 PUPS/PDPS Big South Women's Golf Championship begins next week at Bent Brook Golf Course in McCalla, Ala. and will be hosted by Birmingham-Southern College. The Lady Chants will be the No. 2 seed, while the host Panthers will be the No. 1 seed in the event, which tees off Monday morning, April 10 at 8:00am CT.
