Baseball's Andrelczyk Named to Valley League All-Star Team

Coastal Carolina University baseball pitcher Pete Andrelczyk (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.) has been selected to participate in the Valley League All-Star Game July 8 in Front Royal, Va. Andrelczyk was one of seven players from Waynesboro to be selected to the game.
Andrelczyk is 4-0 with a 1.48 earned-run average and 20 strikeouts in 24.1 innings for the Generals this season. In six appearances this year, he has given up 17 hits, four runs and has walked six batters. Andrelczyk also has given up only two extra-base hits this summer, both doubles.
Andrelczyk was 2-1 with a 4.33 earned-run average in 23 appearances out of the bullpen in 2007 for the Chanticleers. He pitched 27 innings, striking out 24 batters and giving up 25 hits. Opponents hit .238 off of Andrelczyk and he walked only 10 batters. He earned the save in a 5-4 win over Nebraska May 5. Andrelczyk was 2-0 with a 0.64 earned-run average in Big South Conference games and pitched six innings of relief against Liberty, allowing only one hit and one unearned run while striking out seven. He struck out two in a win over Charleston Southern April 1 and did not allow a hit against North Carolina Feb. 28 while striking out a pair.
