Men's Golf Finishes 15th at Ping Fall Preview

WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. -- The Coastal Carolina men's golf squad finished 15th at the Ping Fall Preview, Sept. 22-23. The 54-hole event was hosted by Purdue at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex's Kampen Course (Par 72 - 7,467 yards) in West Lafayette, Ind., the site of the 2008 NCAA Men's Golf Championship.
Charlotte took home the team title with a three-round score of 867, four shots ahead of Oklahoma State in second and six shots ahead of Southern California in third. Coastal continued to improve with each round, cutting its score from 318 in the first round to 306 in the second and 302 in the third for a total of 926.
Josh Jackson was the top Coastal finisher, tying for 47th at 227, with Zack Byrd next in a tie for 55th at 230.
The Chanticleers will return to the course Oct. 12-14 at the Bank of Tennessee/Ridges Invitational, hosted by East Tennessee State, at The Ridges Golf and Country Club in Jonesborough, Tenn.
