Women's Tennis Defeats Presbyterian 6-1
CLINTON, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women’s tennis team (6-2) finished its weekend road trip 2-0 with a 6-1 win over Presbyterian (3-3) Feb. 17 in Clinton, S.C. Coastal won all three matches in doubles and took 5-of-6 singles points. Senior Amy Pazahanick and freshman Lexi Bolesky defeated Abby Diminich and Brittany Lanford at number-one doubles, while sophomore Maria Camberos and freshman Fernanda Shalders defeated Virginia Waldron and Cayla Reece 9-8 in the number-two slot. Sophomore Kim Webb and senior Sofie Ahlberg completed the sweep with a win over the Blue Hose’s Kari Fuller and Megan Davis. Bolesky defeated Lanford 6-3, 6-3 at number-one singles, while Pazahanick beat Diminich 6-4, 6-1 at number-two singles. Webb won 6-3, 6-2 over Davis, while Ahlberg defeated Waldron 6-4, 6-0. Presbyterian’s Fuller beat junior Tina Petkova 6-0, 6-4 for the Blue Hose’s only win, while Camberos won 6-0, 6-1 over Reece in the number-six slot. Coastal opens Big South play Sunday, Feb. 24 with a match against Liberty at Myrtle Beach High School. The match starts at 1 p.m.
