Scott Woodward (Markle, Ind./Norwell) singled with one out. He stole second and scored when senior
Tommy Baldridge’s (Fort Mill, S.C./Fort Mill) grounder was thrown away by Joe Palumbo. Junior
Dock Doyle (Conway, S.C./Conway) then made the Terrapins pay with a two-run shot to right field. Senior
Derek Martin (Barnwell, S.C./Barnwell) made it 4-0 with a double to score junior
Tyler Bortnick (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor). Maryland got a run back in the fourth on a solo home run by Gerry Sepssard. The Terps then made it a one-run game in the seventh as Mike Moss belted a two-run home run. Maryland had runners on second and third in that inning, but junior

Austin Fleet (Edmond, Okla./Santa Fe), pitching in his first game since May of 2006, earned the win, allowing four hits and two runs in 6.2 innings. Fleet had three strikeouts on the day. Jensen Pupa was the hard-luck loser, giving up four unearned runs in five innings. Doyle and sophomore
Adam Rice (Murphy, Texas/Elgin C.C.) had two hits apiece for Coastal. Coastal had four errors and only four hits in the nightcap, but manufactured runs late to get the win over the Hokies. Coastal trailed for the first time this season in the top of the second, as Steve Bumbry scored on an error by Bortnick. Coastal came right back with two in the bottom of the second as Rice hit his first home run in a Chanticleer uniform with a blast to left field. The Hokies tied the game in the fourth as Sean O’Brien doubled to score Tony Balisteri. The score would remain tied at two until the bottom of the sixth. Woodward would walk, steal second and third and score on a sacrifice fly from sophomore
Jose Iglesias (Miami, Fla./St. John’s). Coastal would get out of a jam in the eighth as Austin Wates singled and Balisteri and O’Brien walked, but Andrelczyk got Matt Blow to ground out to first to end the inning. Sophomore
Chance Gilmore (Surfside Beach, S.C./Virginia) scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-2 Coastal heading to the ninth. In the last inning, Jose Cueto singled and scored on a Matt Hacker single, but Bumbry struck out looking to end the game. Sophomore
