Men's Tennis Drops 4-1 Match at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Coastal Carolina's men's tennis team fell 4-1 to High Point (7-5, 2-2 Big South) Saturday, March 29 at the HPU Tennis Complex.
Only singles competition was played as the Chanticleers' (7-11, 1-3 Big South) only win was at No. 3 singles with sophomore Ernesto Ramos (Tampico, Mexico/Instituto Andes (Jacksonville)) downing Henri Mangin 6-2, 6-2. Charles Bottoni defeated senior David Mellis (London, England/Goffs) 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Julien Antraygues beat sophomore Dmitry Vlaskin (Moscow, Russia/Moscow 1201 (Arkansas)) 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 slot. Marc Laslaz came away with a 6-2, 6-4 win over sophomore Plamen Tzvetkov (Herts, United Kingdom/Stanborough) at No. 4 singles and Jim Trussler defeated freshman John Hairston (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Myrtle Beach) 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 5 slot. The No. 6 singles competition between junior Joseph Withers (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap (Liberty)) and Maxime Dutois went unfinished with Dutois leading 7-6, 4-1.
Coastal returns to action Friday, April 4 with a match at UNC Asheville. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
