Coastal Carolina Baseball in the Pros Update Here is an update on the former Coastal Carolina University baseball players currently in professional baseball.
Mike Costanzo is hitting .262 with nine home runs and 36 RBI for the Norfolk Tides of the International League, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Costanzo is 4-for-8 in his last two games at Durham July 8-9.
Michael DeJesus currently is with the Chattanooga Lookouts, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. He is hitting .312 with five doubles, a home run and 10 RBI. DeJesus scored two runs and walked twice at Mississippi July 6.
Dom Duggan is playing for San Jose, the High-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Duggan is hitting .250 with nine doubles and 12 RBI. He also has five stolen bases. Duggan was 3-for-4 with two RBI at Bakersfield July 3.
Andy DeLaGarza is 6-1 with a 3.23 earned-run average for Augusta, the Single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. He has 53 strikeouts in 53 innings of work. DeLaGarza earned the save July 7 at Lake County.
John Mariotti is 3-1 with a 2.61 ERA for Delmarva, the Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Mariotti has not pitched since April 26 against West Virginia, as he went seven innings with six strikeouts while picking up the win. Mariotti currently is on the disabled list for the Shorebirds.
Austin Hinkle has a 2.33 ERA for Columbus, Tampa Bay’s Single-A affiliate. He earned the win July 7 against Kanapolis, striking out three in 1.1 innings.
Travis Risser currently is with Hudson Valley, the Short Season-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. He is 1-0 and has not allowed an earned run in nine appearances. He allowed just one hit in 2.1 innings of work against Tri-City July 7.
Pete Andrelczyk is with Jamestown, the Short Season-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins. He has four saves and has not allowed an earned run in 8.1 innings of work. Andrelczyk struck out a pair in one inning against Brooklyn July 9.
Dock Doyle is hitting .233 with seven RBI in five games for Kingsport, the Rookie affiliate of the New York Mets. Doyle had a hit and an RBI at Elizabethtown July 9.
David Sappelt is hitting .328 with six doubles, a triple, a home run and eight RBI in 16 games for Billings, the Rookie affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. Sappelt was 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored at Ogden July 9.
Tommy Baldridge has two doubles, a home run and four RBI for the Gulf Coast Yankees, the Rookie affiliate of the New York Yankees. Baldridge was 1-for-3 July 9 against the GCL Blue Jays.
Chris Raber is hitting .278 with six doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI for the Rockford Riverhawks of the Frontier League. Raber also has eight stolen bases in 12 attempts for the Riverhawks.
Brett Grandstrand is hitting .247 with three doubles and two home runs for the Washington Wildthings of the Frontier League. Grandstrand has 16 RBI and four stolen bases on the year.
Josh Eachues has played two games for the Washington Wildthings of the Frontier League. He has one hit and two RBI in six plate appearances.
Randy McGarvey is hitting .278 with six doubles, a home run and 18 RBI in 52 games for the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League. McGarvey has a .380 on-base percentage for the Riversharks.
Luis Lopez is hitting .358 with 19 doubles, two triples and four home runs for the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League. Lopez has driven in 49 runs and has a .492 slugging percentage in 70 games.
