Baseball's Woodward Part of Team USA's Perfect Run
Coastal Carolina University sophomore-to-be baseball player Scott Woodward (Markle, Ind./Norwell) helped the United States Collegiate National Team to a perfect 24-0 record over the summer, which ended with a thrilling 1-0 12-inning win over Japan in the finals of the FISU World Championships in the Czech Republic. Woodward was 1-for-3 with a walk in the championship game.
Woodward played in 11 games for Team USA after joining the squad in the Netherlands. He had seven hits, two home runs and five RBI while playing in left and center field. He also was 2-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
