Baseball Alum Rademacher Named Assistant Coach at Air Force

USAF ACADEMY, Colo - Former Coastal Carolina University baseball player Matt Rademacher has been named an assistant coach at Air Force, the Academy announced July 22. Rademacher will assist with the Air Force catchers and will work closely with the Falcon hitters.
Rademacher spent two seasons as a Chanticleer catcher, hitting .340 with seven home runs and 40 runs-batted-in his senior season at Coastal Carolina. He also helped the Chanticleers to a 50-win season, a Big South regular-season and tournament championship and a host of the 2007 Myrtle Beach Regional at BB&T Coastal Field. Rademacher was an All-Big South First Team selection in 2007 and was named to the conference's All-Tournament Team. He also was a Second Team All-Region selection and a two-time Big South All-Academic Team member. He graduated from Coastal Carolina in May of 2007 with a degree in English. Rademacher played for the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League after college.
Rademacher (2006-07) joins a list of Coastal Carolina alumni now coaching in Division I baseball. Gary Gilmore (1979-80), Kevin Schnall (1998-99) and Brendan Dougherty (1996-97) all are coaching at their alma mater, while Chad Oxendine (2001-04) is an assistant coach at Richmond.
