Baseball's Wheeler Named Coastal Carolina Athlete of the Week

Coastal Carolina baseball pitcher Cody Wheeler has been named the Coastal Carolina Athlete of the Week for his play on the field July 23.
Wheeler earned the win on the mound as the Team USA Collegiate National Team defeated Team British Columbia 12-2 in 2009 Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline World Baseball Challenge at Prince George Citizen Field.
Wheeler struck out 10 to improve to 3-0 on the tour this summer. He pitched all seven innings, allowing just two hits and two runs.
On the tour, Wheeler has a 2.42 earned-run average with 31 strikeouts in 22.1 innings. He joins UCLA's Gerrit Cole with matching 3-0 record on the tour.
