JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team, playing in its final fall event of the 2010-11 season, continued to shave strokes off its previous days' total, but could not make up any ground on the field, placing 13th at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, held at the 7,147-yard, par-72 The Ridges.

The Chants carded a one-over par 289 on Sunday after rounds of 305 and 295 on days one and two, with their 54-hole score of 899 placing them 13th in the 14-team field. Virginia won the event with a team score of 853, edging Kent State, the leader after days one and two, by four strokes.

Steve Delmar led Coastal on Sunday with a career-low round of 69. The senior birdied two and 10 before recording an eagle three on the par five 14. Unfortunately, Delmar's lone bogey came on 18 for his three-under round, finishing with a 54-hole score of 221 (74-78-69) and tying for 30th.

Coastal's top scorer for the event was Tripp McAllister, who turned in an even par 72 on Sunday. He off-set two bogeys with two birdies and his 54-hile score of 219 tied him for 24th. The 219 (76-71-72) was his best effort of the season and best since carding a one-under 215 10 events ago (March 2009 at the Desert Shootout).

Freshman Roberto Ballesteros fired a 75 on Sunday, finishing the three-day event with a 223 (76-72-75) and tying for 35th. Drew Ernst, like the team, continued improve each day. After an 83 on Friday, he finished with rounds of 74-73. After being three-over on the front nine Sunday, Ernst birdied 10 and 15 to finish one-over and his 54-hole score of 230 placed in 61st (tied). Rounding out Coastal's contingent was Sebastian Soderberg, who carded a 75 and finished with a three-day total of 232 to finish 66th (tied).
