Two Chants Reach Finals At Wilmington Invitational

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Chanticleers Mikaela Kristofersson and Kourtney Kowal reached the finals of their respective singles flights Saturday on the second day of the Wilmington Invitational.
Kristofersson earned a default victory over Andrea Rivera of Charlotte in the A1 singles flight and will battle Olga Blank of UNC Wilmington on Sunday.
Freshman Kourtney Kowal reached the finals in the B1 singles flight following her victory over Heather Robinson of Campbell. Kowal dropped the first set 3-6, but answered by winning the following two sets 6-1, 10-6 to earn her bid to the finals. She will matchup with Angie Sekely of UNC Wilmington on Sunday.
Kristofersson and Kowal also finished in fourth place in the doubles flight after going 1-1 on Saturday. The duo opened the day with an 8-1 win over Fredrica Lombara and Maria Nedstrom of North Carolina Central in consolation bracket before falling to Borislava Nikolova and Heather Robinson of Campbell 8-5.
