CONWAY- The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will take on the Butler Bulldogs in the annual Carolinas Challenge held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. The game, which is the first of three on the day, is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tip-off.

Butler Bulldogs
Butler is averages an impressive 70.4 points per game and is coming off a 105-98 double-overtime win over Ball State. The Bulldogs are not nearly as sound on the defensive end of the floor as opponents have averaged 70.2 points per game with no opponent scoring less than 50 points.
The Bulldogs are led by a trio of scorers in double digits. Brittany Bowen (16.2 ppg) is also a threat on the boards as she pulls down 6.3 on average. Both Chloe Hamilton and Alyssa Pittman average nearly 12 points per game at 11.9 and 11.7 respectively.
Butler has found its way to the line 204 times this season and has knocked down 146 of those shots for a free throw percentage of 71.6.

Coming Out on Fire
Coastal Carolina was on fire from the floor in the first half of the game against UNC Wilmington. The Chants sank a first half season-high 13 shots. Sydnei Moss led the way going 5-of-6 for 14 points with the only miss being a rushed shot as time expired in the half. Olivia Irick also had a hot hand as she contributed 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting.
Irick's New Career-High
Junior guard Olivia Irick set a new single game career-high points mark with her 18 in the Dec. 15 game against UNC Wilmington. Irick made seven baskets including three treys and a free throw in her 33 minutes on the court. Her previous single game points high was 12 which she had equaled three times in her career.
I Stand Alone
Currently, senior forward Sydnei Moss is the only active player in the Big South Conference with 1000+ career points and 500+ career rebounds. Moss ranks 53rd on the Big South chart with 1085 points and 68th in rebounds with 540.
Coastal and the Horizon League
Coastal Carolina is 0-2 all-time against teams from
the Horizon League. Sunday's game with Butler will be the second time this season the Chanticleers have faced a team from the Horizon League with the other being a 59-52 overtime defeat at the hands of Valparaiso on Dec. 4 at the Aces Winter Classic.
