CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's hoops heads to Evansville, Ind to take part in the Heritage Federal Credit Union Aces Classic presented by Dunn Hospitality. The Chants will play Central Michigan on Friday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. CT in the opening day of the Classic.

Notes: Central Michigan enters the contest averaging 87.3 points per game with six players averaging double figure scoring efforts in each contest. The Chippewas opponents have averaged 75.2 points per game as five of the six have scored 70 plus. Central Michigan averages shooting 41.5 percent from the field, 32 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free throw line.

Central Michigan enters the contest averaging 87.3 points per game with six players averaging double figure scoring efforts in each contest. The Chippewas opponents have averaged 75.2 points per game as five of the six have scored 70 plus. Central Michigan averages shooting 41.5 percent from the field, 32 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free throw line. The Chippewas staring five average 64.5 points per game led by senior forward Kaihla Szunko's 17 per game.

Season-High Shooting
Coastal got on the scoreboard early and often against Coker as the Chants finished 30-of-63 from the field for a season-high 47.6 percent including 50 percent in the second half. Thirteen of the Chants fourteen roster players scored points in the contest.
Connor Gets Into The Action
Freshman center Katelyn Connor broke out of her early season struggles in a big way against Coker as she scored the first points of her young career. Connor went 3-of-6 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line as she contributed nine points and pulled down nine rebounds in 13 minutes of the impressive victory.
Looking Around the Big South
As a team, Coastal Carolina currently leads the Big South in scoring margin as the Chants average 56.8 points per game while only allowing 52.2 points per game. The Chanticleers rank tops in field goal percentage defense allowing opponents to only shoot 32.9 percent from the floor. Due in large part to Katie White 's 15 rejections on the season, Coastal leads the Big South in blocked shots with 32 on the season. Also on the defensive end, the Chants hold the Conferences top spot averaging 30.67 defensive rebounds per game.
Individually, White leads the Big South with 15 blocked shots this season while Sydnei Moss ranks tenth averaging 11.0 points per game. Moss is also second in the League with 57 rebounds for a 9.5 per game average.
Tournament Time Again
Coastal is set to participate in its second inseason tournament in the past two years this weekend at the Heritage Federal Credit Union Aces Classic. Last season the Chants traveled to Alaska to participate in the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout. Coastal split its two games in the tournament falling to Alaska-Anchorage (89-47) before defeating Western Carolina (72-64).
Homecoming.... On the Road?
Coastal Carolina carries six players on its roster from the state of Indiana and one from the neighboring state of Ohio and two from Illinois. Hoosiers Katie Ahaus, Angelica Henry, Alexx Puckett and Kira Carter all hail from Indianapolis. Shanika Maddox calls Fishers, Ind. home while Taylor Epley is from Newburgh, Ind. Lauren Grochowski (Naperville) and Katie White (St. Charles) hail from the Illini state and Courtney Grambley (Morrow) is from Ohio.
