Women's Tennis Falls 4-3 at Duquesne

CONWAY, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina University's women's tennis team battled but came up on the short end of a 4-3 loss at Duquesne, March 15. With the loss, the Chanticleers fell to 11-2 on the year, while the Dukes advanced to 5-6.
Coastal dropped the doubles point, losing two of three doubles matches. The only victory was by senior Paty Cortes and freshman Mary Hill, as the duo defeated Tara Majdalani and Ana Mungo, 8-2.
In singles, the Chants picked up three wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6. Junior Lexi Bolesky won over Mungo at No. 1, getting the 2-1, retired victory. Senior Kim Webb (No. 3) and sophomore Caitlyn Brooksbank (No. 6) each earned three-set wins in their respective matches after winning the first set in each.
Coastal returns to the courts tomorrow, March 16, traveling to Morgantown, W.Va. to take on West Virginia. Match time is 1 p.m.
