Women's Tennis Loses 4-3 at Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina University women's tennis team lost a tough 4-3 Big South Conference battle at No. 70 Charleston Southern, March 31. With the loss, the Chanticleers fell to 13-4 and 3-1 in the league, while the Buccaneers moved to12-1 overall and 5-0 in the league.
CSU captured the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and 2, including a tough 8-6 loss for Coastal's Lexi Bolesky and Miki Bunea at No. 1 to Andrea Schutte and Angie Torres. The lone Chant win was by seniors Kim Webb and Maria Camberos at No. 3 with an 8-6 victory over Brooke Pletcher and Susita Das.
In singles, the two schools split the six matches, with Coastal getting the victories at No. 2, 5 and 6, including Camberos' win in three sets over Torres at No. 5. The other five matches were straight set victories at each level.
The Chanticleers return home to host East Carolina at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center on Friday, April 2 at 11 a.m.
