RALEIGH, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team slipped two spots in the final round to finish seventh at the 2010 Wolfpack Intercollegiate, April 9-10.The two-day, 54-hole tournament was played at NC State's Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
Coastal shot 298 in the final round and finished at 888, while North Carolina won the team title at 860. Duke was second at 867 followed by North Carolina State (872), Florida State (876) and Purdue (885) in the top five.
Senior Dan Obremski and freshman Charlie Winegardner tied for top Chanticleer in a tie for 22nd at 8-over 221. Freshman Sebastian Soderberg is next in a tie for 35th at 10-over 223, with senior Sam Lyons next at 229, tied for 65th. Redshirt-sophomore Drew Ernst capped the Chanticleers' scoring with at 234, tied for 78th. Duke's Adam Long shot a 1-over 214 to take medalist honors by one shot over a group of four players at 215.
The Chanticleers will be back on the course to try and win their seventh-straight Big South Conference Championship at the 2010 event, Mon.-Wed., April 19-21 at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, S.C.
