Women's Tennis Named to the ITA All-Academic Team

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina University women's tennis team was named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team for the 11th-straight year during the 2010 season. To receive the honor, the team grade point average must be at least a 3.2.
The squad also had five student-athletes receive ITA Academic All-American status. Maria Camberos, Paty Cortes, Alex Derungs, Mary Hill and Kim Webb were all selected to the team for having a minimum GPA requirement of a 3.5.
"This is a goal we set every year for our team," Head Coach Jody Davis said. "It is a pleasure to coach a great group of student-athletes that truly care about their academic performance. This award also recognizes what a great faculty we have here at Coastal Carolina and their continued commitment to seeing our students succeed in the classroom."
The Chanticleers return seven letterwinners for the 2010-11 season after finishing with a 19-6 record and making their 17th straight appearance in the Big South Tournament semifinals last season.
