Bunea Makes Finals At College Of Charleston Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Coastal Carolina junior Miki Bunea reached the finals of the A1 flight at the College of Charleston Invitational Saturday afternoon with a singles victory.
Bunea defeated Frida Jansaker of Elon 6-3, 6-1 in the semifinals and will face Christin Newman of the College of Charleston Sunday.
Bunea played alongside Diana Mortlock in the A1 double flight and dropped an opening match to Jessica Cook and Audrey LePottier of East Carolina. The duo, however, rebounded to win its next match and will face Aline Berkenbrock and Victoria Krook of North Florida for fifth place Sunday at 8 a.m.
The Chanticleer tandem of Laurel Bolesky and Kourtney Kowal won two doubles matches Saturday and reached the finals of the A2 flight and will play of the championships Sunday at 8 a.m. Bolesky and Kowal downed Nisha Crouser and Stephanie Synn of Davidson 8-5 before defeating Petra Vogel and Nenna Wanko of East Carolina.
Kowal also won her singles match 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 in the B1 flight against Kristin Lewis of Samford and will now compete for fifth place on Sunday.
