Former Coastal Carolina pitcher and Florida Marlins prospect Pete Andrelczyk helped Team USA to the silver medal at this fall's Pan American Games in Mexico. He was also with Team USA at the IBAF (International Baseball Federation) World Cup in Panama, reaching the third-place game.
The team managed an upset win over Cuba, but fell to Canada in the championship game. Andrelczyk made a team-best three appearances for Team USA during the Pan Ams, pitching 2.2 innings with three strike outs. In the Pan American final, Andrelczyk pitched a perfect ninth, including two strike outs, but Team USA could not score in the home half, falling 2-1 to Canada.
In the World Cup, he tied for second on the squad with four appearances. Andrelczyk posted a 1.50 ERA with a save in 6.0 innings with five strike outs. He pitched the final two innings in the TEAM USA's 3-1 win over South Korea, allowing just one walk over the span.
Of the 16 games Team USA played this fall, Andrelczyk pitched in seven contests, second-most on the squad, with a 4.15 ERA in 8.2 innings. He allowed six hits, four runs and six walks with eight strike outs.

Andrelczyk was fifth-round selection by the Marlins in the 2008 MLB Draft.
