Women's Tennis Wins 6-1 At Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team returned to its winning ways following a 6-1 victory over Presbyterian Tuesday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
Coastal Carolina won all three doubles matches and took a 1-0 lead after winning the point. Senior Lexi Bolesky and freshman Mikaela Kristofersson opened doubles with an 8-0 win over Paige Oelke and Christina Limantore at the No. 1 position. Freshman Kourtney Kowal and Caitlyn Brooksbank clinched the point for the Chants with an 8-3 win over Lindsay Krause and Cara Caruso at No. 3.
Juniors Miki Bunea and Diana Mortlock completed the sweep with an 8-4 win over Patricia Alves and Courtney Gardiner at the No. 2 position.
Freshman Maria Hesketh gave the Chants a 2-0 lead when she bested Krause 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles before Mortlock put Coastal ahead 3-0 following her 6-1, 6-2 victory over Caruso at No. 5.
Bunea sealed the win for Coastal with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Limantoro at No. 2. Bolesky posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over Oelke at No. 1, while Kristofersson turned in a 6-2, 6-2 win over Alves at No. 4.
Coastal returns to action Friday at 2 p.m. when the Chants close the regular season by hosting Charleston Southern from the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
